The Press Service International sport young writers program with Christian Today Australia and Christian Today New Zealand has seen strong and bold articles to date and the second half of the year seems just as fulfilling.

Press Service International run the young writer program with Christian Today Australia and Christian Today New Zealand. The Australian sport writers commenced in 2009 and in 2012 young Kiwi's were invited to become young writers in Christian Today Australia and in 2017 the Kiwi's were established with their own separate edition of Christian Today.
Christian Today is part of CMCI - Christian Media Corporation International - with Christian Post (USA, Canada, Germany), and Christian Today (UK, Czech, Australia, India, New Zealand. Christian Post (USA) is the world's largest Christian news provider.
The Australian edition has had a weekly volunteer sport writer since 2009 and four of those young writers are still with the program. Jeremy Dover (Melbourne), Wesley Tronson (Brisbane), Josh Hinds (Central Coast) and Rosie Timmins (Melbourne) who has transferred as one of the Australian sport panellists.
Each year a set of panellists mark the sport articles with points of out 10 for each article and at the end of the marking season they are collated for the annual Tony Dunkerley Sport Award presented at the annual sport awards.
The 2017 award will be presented on 12 August on the Sunshine Coast at the annual young writers conference.

New Zealand sport writers
The Christian Today New Zealand program is looking for four young sport writers.
Last years NZ sport young writer Tim Newman won the Press Service International Tony Dunkerley Sport Award in Sydney. Tim followed Brad Mills of Auckland as the Kiwi sport writer.
Now, in 2017 there are four volunteer young sport writers 'positions' available to Kiwi young people (18-30 age bracket) in the Christian Today New Zealand program.
Not only can they write and have published their monthly sport article in Christian Today New Zealand, those sport articles next year will be marked by a set of New Zealand panellists for the annual awards.

Australian sport writers
There is one sport writer for each week of the five Cycles. There are 10 Cycles in the year, therefore 10 sport articles throughout each year.
Week 1 - Josh Hinds
Week 2 - Jeremy Dover
Week 3 - David Goodwin
Week 4 - Wes Tronson
Week 5 - Phil Hall
Josh Hinds is a specialist international sport and NRL writer, Jeremy Dover touches on Olympic and Commonwealth type sports, David Goodwin is a cricket tragic, Wes Tronson the EPL having spent seven years in the UK, Phil Hall loves the AFL.

Three sports writers at One Day in Melbourne – Jeremy Dover, Wes Tronson and David Goodwin
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
