2017 young writer planning group meeting last October
Press Service International in conjunction with Christian Today – announces the 2017 young writer conference - this year at the Alexander Headland Conference Centre on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 12 August.
Last October the Sunshine Coast young writer planning group met at Alexander Head Conference Centre to initiate their planning for the 2017 conference.
The group was chaired by Russell Modlin, along with Rebecca Moore, Wes Tronson, Haydn Lea, Jo Fuller, Cartia Moore, Caitlyn Furler and Kandima Awendila – representing young writers from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.
Last weekend on the Gold Coast Rebecca Moore provided an update on the planning at the launch of 'Christian Today New Zealand' where people came together from Christchurch, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Mozambique.
Rebecca Moore set out the program for the 2017 young writers conference followed by Cartia Moore who spoke of last year's young writers conference in Sydney.

Air fare scholarships to assist the young writers travel to the Sunshine Coast have been raised along with eight such helps to New Zealand young writers.
Those eight kiwi young writers are invited to be housed at Alexander Headland in the house on site and the flat so as to assist them with expenses.
There are some flights directs to the Sunshine Coast, others into Brisbane and Russell Modlin has suggested he might have access to a small bus to collect those flying into Brisbane on the Friday evening.
The swashbluckling sword display will be presented by brother and sister Josh and Cartia Moore who are Fencing Coaches and Fencing champions. Last year Channel 7 did a story on the Fencing troupe and showed a live fencing display in costume.

Exciting for the young writers
Rebecca Moore of the planning group for the 2017 young writer conference and annual awards set for Saturday 12 August on the Sunshine Coast - provided a 'happy and exciting' account for the day.
The Alexander Headland conference centre is adjacent at the beach, there are plenty of accommodation options, shops and eating places with the day starting at 9.30am with a morning tea followed by a 10.00am professional sword-craft display in costume.
Speakers have been sought, a time for the young writers to meet in their 'week' groups, there will be 'spot' interviews throughout the day and the awards at 4.00pm will follow as in previous years.
Members of the planning group who were at the CTNZ launch were Cartia Moore, Kandima Awendila, Wes Tronson and Rebecca Moore while Bridget Brenton took a video of the launch proceedings.
Cartia Moore then addressed the gathering on last year's young writer conference in Sydney and the benefit gained from that experience and says this year's on the Sunshine Coast will be even more ….
Rebecca Moore
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
